The Last Time
03:31
|
|||
We're told that we live in the present
But we really live in the past
Because before you know it
The moments don't last
And everything's over
Everyone's sober
Reminiscing on the times we had
The moments we shared
I wish someone cared
Singing, and flying, and screaming, and spying
Not a care in the world we were surviving
I just wish I could go back to that time and
Feel like I had a new purpose, a meaning
Because in this world everyone is so mean and
Can't even trust those you keep close around you
They cheat and they lie and they say that they love you
But what would you do if you had none around you
I can't feel anymore
I can't see through the door
I'm lost and I don't think I can be found
My head is spinning round and round
Time falls like a metronome
I wonder if you'll come home
It's been so long since I felt something like this
I didn't know it was the last time
I didn't know it was the last time
Time falls like a metronome
I wonder if you'll come home
It's been so long since I felt something like this
I didn't know it was the last time
I didn't know it was the last time
Do you remember summer 2009
I snuck out the house with my sister
And chased fireflies
I took for granted all the moments that are in the past
Hit rewind to the good times and just play it back
Sand is slipping down the hourglass
And the fireflies I thought they'd last, but now they're gone and out my grasp
My momma told me don't stay out too late we need you home
Now I'm grown can't find my way I'm so alone
The clock is ticking, clicking
Time is coming, going, slowing
Everyday goes by it all feels like it's just for show
I can't feel anymore
I can't see through the door
I'm lost and I don't think I can be found
My head is spinning round and round
Time falls like a metronome
I wonder if you'll come home
It's been so long since I felt something like this
I didn't know it was the last time
I didn't know it was the last time

Better Off By Myself
03:16
|

You
Wasted my time
Wanted my life
Waiting for me to come through
Fooling myself to believe
There was something
But you never did what I wanted to do
I waited up
Filled up cup
Checking my phone for a message a text and
You never replied and you wore a disguise
And you cheated, you lied
I'm losing my mind
Feel it inside
I can't hold it any longer
You are demon, a monster
You ran and hid under the covers
I gave you all that I had
And you ran with it
You really won't admit
That I don't miss you
And you're feelin real blue
I could care less
I'm better off by myself
I'm better off by myself
You
Acted real cool
Pretended like you cared but really meant nothing to you
I really can't believe
Drained all my energy
All of the shit I've been through
I told my momma
I told my father
But you weren't worth it
You never intended to see them
You only want me to believe
I was only for you
Why did I fool myself into believing
That you were me but
I couldn't see
Took my sight and blinded me
Now I'm finally free
I'm losing my mind
Feel it inside
I can't hold it any longer
You are demon, a monster
You ran and hid under the covers
I gave you all that I had
And you ran with it
You really won't admit
That I don't miss you
And you're feelin real blue
I could care less
I'm better off by my
I'm losing my mind

Subconsciously

Hey dad
What am I doing
Oh I'm in the studio right now
Yeah, I'm with Shim
Shim and Jordan
Kilo's asleep so yeah we're all just vibing
Yeah I'm working on this song called Subconsciously
I think you'll really like it
Yeah, yeah no it's about how music I think
Is really shallow today and everybody just cares about cash versus the art
And uh yeah I think you'll really like it
I'm thinking about you
I just keep skipping, and skipping, and skipping
Can't even find a tune
I'm losing attention, I'm drifting
Not really in the room
Feel like I'm fed up and I don't know why
Songs on the radio are really dry
I'm going crazy, I might lose my mind
Catch me leave and never say goodbye
Subconsciously
Hearing these lyrics so repeatedly
Can't find a rhythm or a melody
And it's killing me
I don't even know what I'm looking for
Subconsciously
All this shit just sounds the same to me
Not really listening I'm just hearing things
Relentlessly
Music's not the same as it was before
I'm begging, I'm asking, I'm pleading
Can anyone make a song
That moves me, infects me, consumes me
I'm barely holding on
Music today doesn't hit the same
Nobody cares they just want the fame
They're all just pawns in a silly game
But who really is to blame
Subconsciously
Hearing these lyrics so repeatedly
Can't find a rhythm or a melody
And it's killing me
I don't even know what I'm looking for
Subconsciously
All this shit just sounds the same to me
Not really listening I'm just hearing things
Relentlessly
Music's not the same as it was before
Defeated, exhausted, frustrated
Song after song I'm impatient
Overproduced and overplayed
Materialistic and basic
Listening to nothing is crazy
Nobody cares they just want the fame
Subconsciously
Hearing these lyrics so repeatedly
Can't find a rhythm or a melody
And it's killing me
I don't even know what I'm looking for
Subconsciously
All this shit just sounds the same to me
Not really listening I'm just hearing things
Relentlessly
Music's not the same as it was before
Subconsciously

The Waitress Rap
06:02

Yeah
I'm a waitress
I walk around all day and see so many faces
Everybody having the same conversation
People at the door chilling on the wait list
My job is so crazy
I see people on the daily
Oops I forgot a ranch
They can't eat it plainly
This woman's like eighty
Her hands are real shaky
But she's nice and real sweet
Plus she tipped me like twenty
It's loud cause there's babies
The food is real tasty
I can't wait to go home
Just to go to bed early
Oh shit I got sat
Lemme go and get that
Got to give my whole speech
The kid looks like Chris Pratt
"Hey man how you doin?"
"I'm real good, how bout you?"
"I'm alright, just trying to make 1 into 2"
"Ok cool lemme start with a water and Ultra"
"Be right back, just lemme know when you want dinna"
I ring in the order and the beer comes out wrong
Chris Pratt is all mad, and I ain't do nothing wrong
See clearly it was just the bartenders mistake
But really what does it matter
Because I get the complaints
I walk around saying I hate to be a waitress
Everybody's mad and it's making me so anxious
People yelling at me I'm running out of patience
Wish I wasn't here and in so many places
Server's hangry
Management won't let us eat
I'm tired of all the bullshit I can barely take the heat
Several things on my mind I've spent all day on my feet
This dude keep looking at my chest, turns out he's a creep
I see so many different people in a day
Y'all can be real assholes
When it comes to pay
See I've been here for thirteen hours
I ain't got no sleep
My non slick shoes are hurting me
Everywhere on my feet
You can come in and order a bunch of things
You want this and that
You really pulling me by a string
And when you get the tab you act all surprised
Like you really didn't sit there
And eat them fucking fries
Yeah
I'm a waitress
I walk around all day and see so many faces
Everybody having the same conversation
People at the door chilling on the wait list
Yeah
I'm a waitress
I walk around all day and see so many faces
Everybody having the same conversation
People at the door chilling on the wait list
Yeah
I'm a waitress
I walk around all day and see so many faces
Everybody having the same conversation
People at the door chilling on the wait list
Yeah
I'm a waitress
I walk around all day and see so many faces
Everybody having the same conversation
People at the door chilling on the wait list
To put this in perspective, I'm a full time student
I work hard everyday
And it ain't for my amusement
I tell them I can rap
And I tell them I can sing
And I tell them this and that
But they're not listening
My customers are rude
And they're giving me attitude
And it's cause they don't like their food
Oh dear lord I'm in such a mood
And this shift in it's entirety
It's giving me anxiety
I wish they would just fire me
So this day is over finally
The blue collar dollar that's some messed up shit
Poor people work so hard and it's not like they can quit
They got mouths to feed, bills to pay, they don't have a choice
They been ran over so many times
They don't even have a voice
Ain't no help from they mama
Ain't no help from they father
Ain't no help from the government
They don't even bother
The hardest jobs on the planet are the blue collar
They struggle everyday
Just to make a single dollar
So many hours on their feet
Every single day
Tired, hungry and broke
We all have a lot to say
The rich dismiss us
They claim they wanna help us
But really in reality
They don't give two fucks
They care about making life better for themselves
Greedy, mean and selfish
They don't really wanna help
Started from the bottom
That's what they all seem to say
Came out of the gutter
And they made the haters pay
You came from the projects and you came from the ghetto
But now it turns out that you're just rich and shallow
Your friends and your family made it out alive
But you left everyone else
Just to fend for their lives
You have all this money
And you have all this power
But you spend it all on
Drugs and hoes by the hour
What baffles me is that you choose to do nothing
What baffles is that you can and still nothing
I ain't said anybody's name in the rap
But if the shoe fits
Then I guess that's that
Yeah
I'm a waitress
I walk around all day and see so many faces
Everybody having the same conversation
People at the door chilling on the wait list
Yeah
I'm a waitress
I walk around all day and see so many faces
Everybody having the same conversation
People at the door chilling on the wait list
Yeah
I'm a waitress
I walk around all day and see so many faces
Everybody having the same conversation
People at the door chilling on the wait list
Yeah
I'm a waitress
I walk around all day and see so many faces
Everybody having the same conversation
People at the door chilling on the wait list
I got zero respect for people who go out to eat
They leave nothing on the tab
They just get up and they leave
But what you fail to forget
What I hope you regret
What I know will make you change
And switch your mindset
Is that you could have been born in a different time
Is that all that you have
Could be gone and could be mine
You could be the one saying you hate to be waitress
You could be the one saying that you're going places
You could be the one working a seven to nine
And you could be the one, who's life was switched with mine
I'm so grateful for everything that my God has gave me
I have a family and friends, and a stable job that pays me
There are people out there who have it much worse
No family or friends, and no change in their purse
If I think my job is bad, then that just changed my perspective
Homeless and hungry
And eat nothing for breakfast
But instead I have the opportunity to go to work
I get to go to college
And do some homework
I envision a life much better for myself
I will keep moving and going, even if I don't get help
I really hate serving
But I have to keep going
I wake up from last night and go straight into the morning
So yeah
I'm a waitress
I walk around all day and see so many faces
Everybody having the same conversation
People at the door chilling on the wait list
Yeah
I'm a waitress
I walk around all day and see so many faces
Everybody having the same conversation
People at the door chilling on the wait list
